Background
Joshua Schamach, CAC, ICADC, is a group facilitator and primary therapist at RECO Immersive, providing process and psychoeducational groups in the residential setting. He has facilitated groups across a range of South Florida programs — RECO Intensive, House of Discernment, Galt Ocean Rehab, Legacy Healing Center, and Solutions Recovery — which gives him a wide clinical vocabulary and a strong instinct for what clients need at each stage.
His work at RECO Immersive is grounded in both training and lived recovery experience.
Approach
Joshua’s groups at RECO Immersive combine empathy and accountability, holding the room steady while inviting clients into honest self-examination. He works with CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness practices, and his sessions weave psychoeducation with skills work that clients can use the same day.
He is deliberate about tone — respectful, curious, non-hierarchical — because he knows residential culture works best when clients feel like collaborators, not subjects. He is pursuing an M.S. in Professional Counseling Psychology at Florida International University toward the LMHC.
Education & Credentials
CAC and ICADC. M.S. Professional Counseling Psychology (in progress) and B.A. Psychology, summa cum laude, from Florida International University. B.S. Business Administration-Finance, cum laude, University of Florida. Interdisciplinary background in medical education, research on exercise and allostatic load in recovery, university-level science instruction, and ER triage volunteer service.
What to Expect
At RECO Immersive, clients in Joshua’s groups find him grounded, honest, and warmly demanding. His sessions become the place where the residential work turns into daily practice.
