Editorial Standards
RECO Immersive publishes clinical content on residential mental health and addiction care. The people writing and reviewing this content treat patients every day. This page explains how we make sure what you read here reflects that clinical reality.
Who reviews our content
Every clinical article on RECO Immersive goes through medical review before publication. Our reviewer bench includes Dr. Anthony Campo (MD) and Dr. Charles Norris (MD), board-certified psychiatrists; Dr. Alexander Scheuermann (DO), our Medical Director; Dr. Anton Bonci (MD), who runs the neurostimulation program; psychiatric nurse practitioners Todd Ludwig (PMHNP-BC), Jacqueline Simon (APRN, PMHNP-BC), and Frances Murphy (APRN); and Kathleen Simervil (MSPA, PA-C, CAQ-Psych), our psychiatric physician assistant.
Bylines are honest. The “author” is the clinician who wrote the article — often David Levin (LCSW, CAP, CMHP) or Allison Steiner (LCSW) for psychotherapy topics. The “medically reviewed by” line names a second, prescribing clinician who verified the medical content is current. The two are always different people.
Sourcing standards
We start with primary sources. Diagnostic criteria come from the DSM-5-TR. Level-of-care recommendations reference the ASAM Criteria. Medication content is checked against the FDA prescribing label; MAT information (buprenorphine, naltrexone, methadone) is checked against SAMHSA and NIDA guidance. Peer-reviewed journals are cited when we make specific clinical claims — and we link to PubMed or the journal page so readers can go read the abstract themselves.
We do not build articles from press releases or from wellness content farms. Statistics come from federal surveys or peer-reviewed epidemiology, and are attributed to the specific source.
How we correct errors
If you find something wrong — a stale citation, a broken link, a misattributed statistic, or a clinical claim you can’t verify — email editorial@recoimmersive.com. Response within three business days. Confirmed corrections go up with a dated note at the bottom of the article. Anything touching medications or clinical guidance re-enters medical review before the correction is published.
Not medical advice
What you read on this site is meant to inform, not to substitute for a clinical evaluation. Nothing here should be used to self-diagnose, to adjust a prescription, or to skip a conversation with your own psychiatrist or therapist. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For a suicide or mental health crisis, call or text 988. For substance use crisis support, call SAMHSA’s National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP. If you are considering residential treatment at RECO Immersive, the admissions number in the footer is answered 24 hours a day by a person, not a system.
